The Richland County Commissioners have approved spending $118,000 to purchase 28 new tasers for Richland County Court Services and Common Pleas Court bailiffs.

According to RichlandSource.com, the current tasers, some of which have been acquired over the last 10 to 20 years, will need to be replaced soon.

J.J. Bittinger, Chief Probation Officer for Richland County Court Services, said he just recently found out that some of the tasers will be obsolete after this year.
