Officials with Mansfield’s building and codes department this week inspected the remaining portion of the West Park Shopping Center, which is not under the demolition order.
RichlandSource.com reports, there are a few businesses that are operating and do have some needed repairs, but are in decent shape.
According to Adrianne Ackerman, Community Development and Housing Director, some of the vacant units have a lot of needed repair work, including ceiling tiles missing and some with water and mold damage.
The owners will be given 2 months to make the repairs. The inspection comes just after the owners sent a letter to Mansfield about potential litigation, after the planning commission voted to demolish the Shopping Center on Park Ave West and bill the cost to the owners.
