I’m the youngest voice heard on WMAN. They call me a utility man.
I board operate the sports games you hear through the week, host " The WMAN Sports Grill " as we talk local and Ohio sports each night from 6 - 8 p.m. , and I fill in for the other full time staff when needed. Our production director calls on me when he’s on vacation to take on all of his production duties. In addition to that, I help our sister station Y-105 from time to time.
Besides being in the studio…you can hear me every fall during high school football season calling play by play or adding some colorful commentary. In the winter, I’ll put my two cents in with high school basketball.
Before this great opportunity with WMAN in 2006, I was with the Clear Channel stations in Marion for 4 years.
Outside of radio, I currently reside in Ontario with my wife and our cat.
Thursday, I was at Progressive Field to watch the Tribe play the Oakland A's.
I went with Rusty Cates and Tommy Barnes from WMAN. We watched some of the game from the Terrace Club....
The other part of the game we watched from the 3rd base line.
It was a 9-2 win for the Indians and an awesome day for baseball!
The Indians won for the 10th time in the last 11 games on Thursday, a 9-2 win over Oakland.
The Tribe swept the 4-games series from the A's and is the first time since 1999 that Cleveland has swept Oakland in a 4-game series. The last time it happened in Cleveland was 1995.
The Tribe hit 3 more home runs on Thursday (Kipnis, Swisher and Reynolds) and now have 49 dingers on the year, which not only leads the American League, but is the most in all of baseball. Atlanta (2nd) entered Thursday night with 47 HR's.
Scott Kazmir (2-1, 4.87) struck out 10 batters and got his 2nd win of the year, as he pitched 6 innings and gave up only 1 run on 5 hits.
The Indians open a huge series on Friday night in Detroit. The Tribe (18-14) is one game back of the 1st place Tigers (19-13).
Corey Kluber (2-1, 3.06) will go for the Indians, while Max Scherzer (4-0, 3.43) will be on the mound for the Tigers.
