Five friends decide to do a weekend at a remote cabin in the woods. And no, you DON’T know what comes next. There are scads of twists and turns with shouts out to every demon ever seen in every horror film. More gory than scary (but not in a “Saw”way) this slasher-comedy is unlike any you’ve ever seen.

Starring mainly unknowns (excepting Chris Hemsworth, Richard Jenkins and Bradley Whitford) with a knockout cameo at the climax (I won’t spoil your fun), “Buffy The Vampire Slayer” creator Josh Whedon and “Cloverfield” writer Drew Goddard just set a new bar for the horror-slasher genre. I mean, how many slasher films can you call smart???

Whatever Whedon and Goddard were on, they’d better get some more for their next , greatly awaited creation.
